Mexia ISD encompasses approximately 170 square miles and is primarily located in Limestone County with a small portion extending into Freestone County and includes the City of Mexia. The City is located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 84 and State Highways 14 and 171 approximately 40 miles east of Waco and 80 miles south of Dallas. The City’s 2010 census population was 7,459, a 13.7% increase since 2000. The City’s current population is estimated to be around 7,500.
