The Safe Haven Network addresses the link between domestic violence and animal abuse. We facilitate safe boarding options for the pets of domestic violence survivors who want to escape their abuse and refuse to leave their pets behind. The Safe Haven Network has developed relationships with animal shelters that board pets from emergency situations on a temporary basis, free of charge. These shelters cooperate with domestic violence advocates who assist survivors to transport their pets to a safe place while the survivor stays in a domestic violence shelter.
