Indian Institute of Management Nagpur was announced and finalized by the Ministry of HRD, Government of India in late 2014 as part of its attempts to increase the availability of top-class management expertise and education in different parts of the country. IIM Nagpur was inaugurated on 26th July 2015 at the hands of Shri Devendra Fadnavis, Honourable Chief Minister of Maharashtra and started functioning under the guidance and mentorship of Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad - one of the top institutes of management in India and the Asia-Pacific. The institute is currently located within the campus of VNIT Nagpur which offers an excellent campus learning environment. The state of art infrastructure has been created to fulfill the needs of students for better learning environment which includes modern IT networks, comfortable living hostel and various recreational facilities. It would move to its own campus later. As a new generation IIM, IIM Nagpur aims to innovatively address the needs of a modern India, connecting aspirations and realities to attain benchmarks that are respected internationally. IIM Nagpur is proud of the quality of students who have joined, the learning experience they undergo at the Institute, and the impact they have on the organizations and society upon graduation. We believe we are nurturing leaders of enterprise of the New India. A core group of academic experts from IIM Ahmedabad, keeping in mind current socio-economic context, need for professional management and leadership, designed a specialized syllabus and the first batch was trained under the watchful eyes of 30 very eminent professors from IIM Ahmedabad at IIM Nagpur. Selected instructors were invited from the industry to design & co-teach some of the courses with the Faculty from IIMA.
