Euclid LED Labs is a startup founded by group of engineers from University of Florida and Texas Tech University, USA. We have an R&D lab in Dehradun and currently we are working on developing efficient and inexpensive substitutes for Metal Clad Printed Circuit Boards (MCPCB) used in high power LED lights. Most PCBs that we see are made up of FR4 grade material which is composed of glass fiber and epoxy and is a poor conductor of heat. For applications where operating conditions are hotter or the heat produced is high (such as LEDs), FR4 based PCBs can not be used and thus MCPCBs are used. At Euclid Labs, we are using inexpensive glass based material system (developed by Euclid Labs) which is directly printed and fired on Aluminum substrate. As a result, our substrates are 20% more efficient and cost only 50% of the traditional MCPCBs.
