BAR Switzerland more than 65 years ago - an institution that made history! On November 9, 1950, thirteen International Carriers founded B.A.R. Switzerland, in the name of «Swiss Panel of IATA Carriers». Our association was renamed to B.A.R. Board of Airline Representatives in Switzerland on February 8, 1968 and is up to today a valid and important body for the airline industry in Switzerland. The B.A.R. Board of Airline Representatives in Switzerland is the industry association representing the majority of airlines operating to and from a Swiss Airport or having a Sales Representation in Switzerland. We present a vital international perspective of the industry at a local level and are highly involved in any issues that collectively affect our members, including policy, regulation, airport capacity, environment, taxation and charges. Close cooperation with the International Air Transport Association (IATA), government departments, regulators, airport operators and other trade partners is very important to us.
