The Docutegrity Seal: Content owners will be able to affix a Docutegrity™ seal to their promotional materials. The Annotation Engine: Docutegrity is building a platform for citizen scientists to add citations and accuracy ratings within content; the aggregate of which will receive a score based on the platform’s algorithms. By providing an annotated version for streaming (reminiscent of VH1’s “Pop Up Video”) viewers will be more capable of distinguishing fact from fiction, propaganda from point of view. Viewers will be able to click through to primary resources cited throughout (on mobile/desktop). Online Classes & Accreditation The Foundation is committed to developing and conducting filmmaker classes in the following areas: • Narrative Journalism • Bias Awareness • Fair Use • Critical Thinking These classes will be geared towards assisting documentary filmmakers in becoming more effective, more responsible and more self-aware storytellers. Public Outreach Docutegrity will conduct classes and workshops for the public to teach students and audiences how to watch films and media content with more scrutiny. Participants will learn how to discern lying by omission and general editing. Students will become more curious, skeptical, and vigilant as viewers. These classes will provide participants with an appreciation for the arts and culture, and with a new view and understanding of the underlying qualities of nonfiction and historical fiction.
