WeAreWaterloo Business Improvement District (BID)

www.wearewaterloo.co.uk

WeAreWaterloo is a Business Improvement District (BID), voted for and supported by local businesses. A not-for-profit company governed by volunteers from the surrounding area, we’re here to help make Waterloo a happier and safer place to work, live and visit. Established in 2006, our work covers three key areas: enhancing the environment; celebrating and promoting Waterloo; and connecting and representing our stakeholders. Recent projects include: the Greenways initiative on Cornwall Road; subsidised and free recycling for 208 local businesses; the engagement of Waterloo’s first full-time neighbourhood security guard; partnerships with Vault Festival, the Waterloo Foodbank, Morley College and London South Bank University; and a feasibility study for the proposed Waterloo Walkway. We also run EmploySE1 and Lower Marsh Market, for whom we successfully implemented a timed closure on Lower Marsh in summer 2020. BIDs run in five-year terms and WeAreWaterloo’s current term ends on 31 March 2021. We need a Yes from a majority of the businesses voting in our BID renewal ballot (18 January - 18 February 2021) to continue to support the development of Waterloo for the next five years. Want to know more? We’d love to chat. Get in touch with Natalie, Harrie or Alex at info@wearewaterloo.co.uk or find us across social media at @WeAreWaterlooUK. We look forward to hearing from you.
