Vision: National Academies of Practice will lead and exemplify interprofessional healthcare that promotes and preserves health and well-being. Multiple Health Professions Working Together The National Academies of Practice (NAP) was founded in 1981 to advise governmental bodies on our health care system. It is the only interprofessional group of health care practitioners dedicated to these issues. Distinguished Practitioners, Scholars and Policy Fellows are elected by their peers from multiple different health professions. NAP also has Professional Members who are nominated by their peers for their significant contributions and have been in practice less than 10 years. Annual Forum & Meeting: Every spring, NAP hosts an annual forum with the most relevant healthcare topics from an interprofessional perspective and hosts it’s annual membership meeting, including the newly inducted Fellows and Professional Members. April - Interprofessional Healthcare Month: NAP led the proclamation of celebrating Interprofessional Healthcare every April to highlight the importance of an interprofessional approach to healthcare delivery.
