A UK based Computer recycling, waste electronic and secure data destruction company, IT-Green® is the registered trade-name of Computer Displays UK Limited. Founded in 2005, it is a service provider to Businesses and Schools in the UK. It offers an ethical solution to the disposal of waste Computer Hardware, avoiding the potential for export outside the European Union and instead uses an internal network for re-use, carrying out the disassembly, shredding and granulating in-house. DEVELOPMENT: Since 2005, the company has developed internally, first obtaining Section 40 exemption for the treatment of WEEE, followed two years later by the successful application for Planning and Permitting (Standard Rules No 23, WEEE) under the new Waste Management Licensing system introduced in 2008. Personnel have similarly gained from development of the Company, achieving Qualifications with WAMITAB (Waste Management Industry Training and Advisory Board) at both NVQ level 2 and NVQ level 4. The company now retains Operator Competency for a WEEE facility and has recently added Competency for the management of Non Hazardous Wastes. ACTIVITIES: Collection & transport of Waste Computer Equipment In-House repair & refurbishment. In-House Dis-assembly, shredding, shearing & granulating Destruction of Confidential Data: Binary Wiping Shredding of Hard Disks Granulating Optical media, tape backup units & solid state media Certification of Data Bearing Media. Paper trail: Issuing of Waste Transfer Notes & Consignment (Hazardous) Notes Part E Consingee Returns National Operator Returns & Hazardous Waste Returns to the Environment Agency
