The Way Back Forward Project was born from a failed LinkedIn post. When I (founder Erin Sarris) decided to share a new job update on LinkedIn in February 2021, almost a year after the onset of COVID-19, I found that the words that normally came naturally to me got stuck in my throat. It was difficult to bask in the moment when I knew that so many women have been sidelined through no fault of their own — failed policy, the demands of childcare, eldercare or virtual learning that became incompatible with pretty much anything else. The Way Back Forward Project exists specifically for women and caregivers who have been forced out of the workforce due to COVID-19 and are ready to wade their way back in. We do this by equipping them with practical tools they can use to re-enter the workforce and confidently communicate their talents and abilities through cover letters, resume refreshes and coaching.
