Our Vision To be the leading evidentiary-based research centre in the extractive industry, on policy, legislation and regulatory issues in Kenya (and the broader East African region) as they relate to socio-economic development. Our Mission To provide a platform, based on objective and independent research and analysis, where a wide ranging group of stakeholders in Kenya can engage in policy dialogue and development aimed at enhancing, and sustaining, the positive socio-economic benefits the country can gain from the emerging extractive sector, whilst preventing or minimizing negative impacts. Our Work • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research into various thematic areas of the extractive sector; • Enhance the capacity of various stakeholders to utilize and benefit from the extractives sector through education workshops, roundtables, conferences and programs; • Developing a repository of extractive sector education curricula, resources and evaluation frameworks; • Collaboration between local and international experts in learning and education, applied research and technical assistance in order to ensure responsiveness to the sector's needs; • Facilitating multi-stakeholder engagement to ensure good governance in the extractives sector.
