We have 2 minutes to start some type of intervention before the brain starts to die. Every minute that we wait, the victim’s chance of survival decreases by 10%. Studies find that if compressions are started, and an AED can be applied within the first 2 minutes of cardiac arrest, the person goes from a 10% chance of survival to a 90% chance of survival.
