After focusing for many years on the functional capabilities of SMX, the priority changed to security. SecureSMX, our next generation RTOS, was the result of several years of development to solve the security problem for microcontroller-based embedded systems. It uses the Cortex-M Memory Protection Unit (MPU) to enable partitioning embedded software into isolated partitions so that hacker invasions are limited in scope and cannot reach vital information such as sensitive data, keys, passwords, etc., nor access code or I/O in other partitions.
