YouLEAD Initiative is a non-government organization founded on August 19, 2019, by a small group of young professionals in Urdaneta City, Pangasinan, Philippines. YouLEAD aims to advance the leadership, engagement, advocacy, and development of the youth sector. Moreover, the Initiative aspires to promote active participation of the youth towards the realization and localization of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. From a small group hailing in a humble province from Region 1, YouLEAD Initiative advanced/expanded its reach nationwide. On December 4 of the same year, YouLEAD Initiative was officially recognized as a National Community-based Youth Organization in the Philippines by the National Youth Commission (NYC), through its Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP), with the Unique Registration Number: YO-729-100319. YouLEAD is also an associate member organization of CIVICUS, an international coalition of civil society organizations (CSOs) dedicated to strengthening and engaging citizen action and civil societies towards resolving issues that challenge the fate of humanity. On June 19, 2020, YouLEAD Initiative was registered officially to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a non-stock corporation. Bearing its new name, “YOULEAD INITIATIVE INC.“ On June 2, 2021, United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth Initiative (SDSN Youth), through its Membership Program, has accepted YouLEAD Initiative as one of its official member organizations. SDSN Youth was launched in June 2015 in Paris as an initiative of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN). SDSN Youth aims to educate young people regarding the challenges in attaining sustainable development. It also provides opportunities in pioneering innovative solutions for the implementation of the SDGs through creativity and knowledge.
