The Reading and Writing Project Network was created a decade ago to extend the reach of the parent organization, The Teachers College Reading and Writing Project. Through the RWP, Calkins and 50 colleagues help schools across the world to lift the level of reading and writing instruction. The organization works in deep, long lasting ways with schools in cities such as Seattle, Albany, Chicago, and countries such as Jordan, Israel, Sweden and Mexico. Each summer, the organization leads several score of 'homegrown' summer institutes.
