Idilia brings artificial intelligence to the cloud for the developer community. Idilia’s core technology analyzes text (including social media streams and queries) and determines the meanings of words in context, including both common words and proper nouns. This core technology, a major breakthrough in AI, is the most accurate in the world. Third party application developers can now leverage three core components through REST APIs: Sense Analytics - This component assigns precise word senses to text. So, for example, “jaguar” is determined to be a cat, a car, an operating system, etc. “JFK” is determined to be a president, an airport, a movie, etc. Paraphrasing - This component rewrites queries and phrases using synonyms, syntactic transformations and morphological variants. The Knowledge Base - This component is the largest and most accurate reference database of the English language containing over 300,000 common word senses, over 10 million proper nouns, and over 100 million dependency relationships among them. In addition, the KB contains millions of links to external structured and semi-structured sources of information. Idilia is currently developing applications in algorithmic search, sponsored search, shopping (product search), classification and content analysis of social media streams, automated reference linking, and other areas, all delivered as SaaS.
