STET’s mission is to stimulate the production and promotion of high quality professional English language theatre in The Netherlands. In doing so, STET enriches the Dutch cultural landscape and fulfils the need of English language theatre felt by internationals in the Hague and beyond. In addition, STET offers English language theatre and workshops to pupils and students (of both Dutch and international backgrounds). Artistically STET looks for interesting work that evokes reactions to issues that we face in our world today and the dilemma's in our daily lives. When programming we look for new work as well as classical texts, which are often reworked into modern adaptations or go back to the original. There are universal lessons to be learned in both ways of working. When producing as a company we aim to connect different cultures and backgrounds both in the artistic approach and in the crews we work with. Internationalism is at the core of our being to stimulate debate and mutual understanding at a local level.
