Seek & Swoon
www.seekandswoon.comFor all of us, there’s something about a place that says “home.” A place that calls to us. That makes us think, “I belong here.” This place could be an ocean away or our own living room in an overstuffed chair. That’s where Seek & Swoon was created—between a bon voyage and a bungalow. Seek & Swoon started from a passion. Jala Smith-Huys began her journey of creating throws by bringing her love of travel back to her home (which happens to be a 1920’s bungalow that’s in constant renovation in Portland, Oregon). Jala wanted something cozy at home so she could dream of her next journey, whether it was a girls’ weekend to San Francisco or a two-month European adventure with her husband and two young sons. She wanted to create a home that reflected her love and curiosity for distant places. At Seek & Swoon, we are inspired by places. In the biggest terms, we are inspired by our world—taking care of it, exploring it, and adding to its beauty. Our products reflect this: they are made in the USA from recycled cotton yarn that’s refiberized from apparel factories’ cutting room floors. This process saves a lot of energy and resources while strengthening the resurgence of the US knitting industry. We researched over 100 mills to find one that could support this idea while providing a blanket that will last. We partner with a second generation, family-owned mill that’s just as committed to comfort, quality, and design as we are. Speaking of design, a good one should evoke the same sense of place that a good room-with-a-view can. That’s why most of our designs are inspired by places we’ve been, places we dream about, and places we’ve lived. When you wrap up in one of our throws, we hope you find the same sense of belonging and comfort that you’d find relaxing in a Tuscan vineyard or sipping tea in Edinburgh or savoring a moment in your own home. And we hope that you find the same joy in dreaming about your next adventure on the horizon.
