TUNL is a consortium of four major research universities in the North Carolina Research Triangle Area: Duke University, North Carolina Central University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. From these four and other collaborating Universities, about 30 faculty members, 20 postdocs and research scientists, and 50 graduate students conduct research at TUNL.
