Space Y (former Galileo Services) is the leading industry organisation focusing on the downstream side of the EU Space Programme. The association mission is to create value for Europe through the development of applications and the growth of the EU downstream industry. It represents a network of about 160 companies. Most of Space Y members and affiliates are involved in at least two of the main components of the EU Space Programme (satellite navigation, Earth observation, secure telecommunications). They are experienced in a wide variety of fields of applications, including defence, transport, agriculture, construction, surveying and mapping, mass market. For the benefit of the European Union, GNSS users and the European downstream industry, Space Y aims to: - Collaborate with national and European decision makers to foster the development of the European downstream industry; - Contribute to the policy-making process at European level by advocating common positions; - Raise awareness about the benefits of the EU Space Programme for the European Union and its citizens in terms of quality of life, growth, competitiveness and employment; - Promote the use of space-enabled applications in all market segments, foster synergies between the different part of the Programme and support interoperability with non-EU similar systems. Space Y members include Airbus Defence and Space, Ansaldo, CGI, ESSP, FDC, Fugro, Glorytech, GMV, Hertz Systems, Hexagon Positioning Intelligence, Honeywell International, Indra, Ineco, Javad GNSS, Kongsberg Seatex, M3 Systems, Navcert, NLR, NSL, OHB, SES, Septentrio, Skydel Solutions, Sogei, Spirent and Thales.
