For the past 29 years, the J. Robert Anderson team has woven together their ideas to form a unique vision of landscape architecture. Mr. Anderson has enjoyed a diverse practice, focused mainly in the greater Central Texas region, yet also extending to Alabama, Kansas, Oklahoma and Tennessee. He has handled projects of varied complexity and scale—from institutions of higher education to a corporate campus; from major retail shopping centers to residential projects and ranches; from landmarks to commercial projects. J. Robert (Bob) Anderson, FASLA, has personally completed hundreds of diverse and notable planning and design projects, establishing himself as one of the Southwest’s most creative and technically competent landscape architects. Bob’s extraordinary ability to mesh a site’s environmental sensitivity with human use has been recognized by numerous awards from ASLA and other professional peer groups, as well as citations in several national and international professional publications. Several of these projects, including the Schlumberger corporate campus and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, have helped to define current ecological and xeriscape landscape design practices. Through his openly collaborative style he has shared his capability with allied professionals such as architects, environmentalists, and artists, as well as developers and public clients. These relationships have helped to create widespread positive visibility for the broader profession in addition to his practice. J. Robert Anderson’s work will continue to celebrate the regional character of each new client and build on the firm’s first two decades of place-sensitive design.
