The 5000 Days Project

www.the5000daysproject.org

The 5000 Days Project is a social enterprise helping children deal with the challenges of growing up. At the heart of our methodology is our question-based StoryQ interview process which encourages kids to explore their values, feelings, fears & dreams using the power of storytelling and video journaling. Our aim is to create a more emotionally intelligent and informed generation of self aware, empowered individuals.   The founder of The School of Life Project | 5000 Days is Dr Rick Stevenson. Rick has conducted over 6,000 deeply personal interviews with kids and teens from 12 countries using his StoryQ method of inquiry. He believes that teaching young people to tell the most difficult story they’ll ever tell—their own—unlocks their potential from within. His own story ranges from earning a Doctorate at Oxford University to directing, producing, and writing 12 movies and 100 hours of television, working with stars like Robert Redford, Hugh Grant, Meg Ryan, and Patrick Dempsey. He’s also an author, husband, and a father of four. Australia is The School of Life Project | 5000 Days' 12th country. Schools leading the way with using our technology include Geelong Grammar School, Byron Bay Public and Perth College. There is now an Australian based team headed by Anya Haywood and a National Pilot Program has been introduced for all Australian based schools interested in increasing their students' emotional intelligence by helping them become more self-aware and more in control to make informed choices.
