South Coast College
www.southcoastcollege.eduSouth Coast College is a boutique college in Southern California specializing in medical and legal careers. It is the only private college offering a Court Reporting Program. It has been the leading provider of court reporters, deposition reporters, and captioners in the state since 1962. The legal and medical programs benefit from the outstanding reputation the college has established from the excellence of its court reporting alumni who permeate the legal and medical industries. The programs are specifically designed to provide trained personnel to the legal and medical professions. Most of the South Coast College students have had prior post-secondary education, and many already have college or university degrees but do not have the skills to make them employable in the two fields in which the most jobs are available -- legal and medical areas. A program at South Coast College is also a great point of departure for any high school student who has no idea of what career path to pursue. South Coast College has distinguished itself in the court reporting field by being the foremost producer of court/deposition reporters and captioners in the State -- a tribute to its excellent court reporting staff, many of whom are themselves alumni of South Coast College. As evidenced in all the South Coast College programs, it is the teaching staff that makes a difference in all the programs. In the Paralegal Studies program, the Director of Legal Programs has amassed the most highly qualified instructors to bring their professional experience to the classroom. The classes are purposely small and intimate fostering the development of students who have a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds. In the Medical Assisting program, the instructors who teach are medical doctors with teaching and medical experience. The program is small and the setting comfortable. Everyone works together to develop the skills that are necessary in a medical environment.
