We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire young people to use kindness to engage with their world. Millions of students are negatively affected by a lack of basic kindness in schools. 25% of middle school students and 31% of 6th graders are bullied in school each year. The effect? A negative school climate in which students are largely disengaged and do not support each other. We fill this gap by helping teachers foster caring and inclusive classrooms. Our social emotional learning program inspires upper elementary and middle school students to be thinkers, upstanders, and changemakers. Guided by our interactive and experiential learning cycle, students build a strong sense of self, make meaningful connections, and experience firsthand the power of their actions. As one 6th grade teacher explains, "ThinkGive helps students see beyond themselves and realize they have the power to create a supportive community both within school and beyond.” And an 8th grade student: “ThinkGive made me recognize how I treat people, how they treat me, and how I treat myself.” Since our 2013 founding, we have reached over 5,000 students and encouraged over 45,000 acts of kindness!
