The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the state's peak body for lawyers and those who work with them in the legal sector. LIV Young Lawyers provides a unique opportunity for new lawyers (regardless of age) to meet with their peers, have a break from their daily routine, and share their thoughts, opinions and ideas in a safe and non-judgmental environment. The LIV's purpose is to be a dynamic leader and innovator of the legal profession; support and inform members; raise the profile and standing of the legal profession; and advocate justice for all. LIV Young Lawyers objectives: - Provide practical guidance to new lawyers on how to build a successful legal career - Provide networking opportunities for Young Lawyers to meet their peers - Continued Professional Development tailored specifically for new solicitors - Stimulate interest amongst Young Lawyers to become involved in the activities of the LIV and the wider community - Provide a voice for Young Lawyers when commenting on the application of law - Create a forum for Young Lawyers to participate in law reform - To help Young Lawyers strike a balance between their career and social activities
