Your Energy Friend was founded in 2006 with a vision of providing truly independent Home Energy Assessments for householders. To date we have conducted over 6000 Home Energy Assessments. For the all homes that we have worked with, we can demonstrate minimum savings of 30% of energy usage and energy costs. It should be understood that our primary motivation is to assist householders to reduce their energy costs and associated Greenhouse gas emissions. When conducting Home Energy Assessments, we cover the following: • Building Envelope and associated energy savings through insulation and sealing the house • Ceiling Insulation Inspection and recommendations • Hot Water savings and viability of Solar Hot Water or Heat Pumps • Lighting efficiency opportunities and savings • Heating, Air Conditioning usage and possible improvement to performance and usage • Standby Power savings • All Appliances and usage and savings opportunities • Entertainment & Computer Equipment usage and savings opportunities • Solar PV Viability • All other energy savings opportunities • We also ensure that the resident is receiving best electricity and gas rates • Electricity, gas and Water bills are bills are explained in detail to the resident to ensure that they are empowered to monitor and manage them into the future. Once a household assessment is completed a detailed action plan is developed detailing all opportunities available to the resident. Our assessments, or audits as they are sometimes called have been conducted in partnership with Local Councils, Electricity Network Companies (e.g. Ausgrid and Integral Energy), Electricity Retail Companies, State and Federal Governments initiatives and NGO’s.
