URock is an Investment firm based in Potomac, MD. We are unique in that we have “been there done that” entrepreneurs on our team and invest in winning ideas and disruptive technologies. I am responsible for overall investments and strategy. Our current investments include: CERTIFY Health® CERTIFY.me® OnePay® Kangaroo® TIERO® AuthX® Faiv® Prior to URock, I was the Founder & CEO of SecureNet, a classic “something from nothing” that began in my apartment back in 1997. In order to fund my tuition to Chiropractic school, I taught kids karate. My studios grew to over 800 students and I needed a better way to bill then putting numbers onto a plastic box. This billing challenged me to build the world’s first Cloud/SaaS based recurring billing platform. I grew the billing platform into an industry-leading payment gateway that processed hundreds of millions of transactions worth billions of dollars for nearly a hundred thousand merchants. We also developed an end-to-end payment platform with direct processing relationships into VISA, MC, AMEX & Discover. Customers included Wells Fargo, GEICO, Ameriprise Financial and Duncan Donuts. Happy customers was the funding source of SecureNet. I exited SecureNet in 2011 and launched URock.
