Platypus Outdoors Group is a small to medium enterprise (SME) whose core business involves the design, manufacture, importation and distribution of high quality outdoor products for both civilian and military use. Plat-a-tac is the brand name used to market products for both military and law enforcement bodies both domestically and internationally. 1. Platypus Group Head Office is located at Hallam just 30 kms from the heart of Melbourne with easy freeway access. We employ over 40 people at our 928 Square metre site, we have warehousing and design capabilities in house. 2. The facility houses our office for administration and design, show rooms, warehousing, prototyping development staff and tactical nylon manufacturing plant. Here our industrial design trained staff can animate, pattern, manufacture, repair, and service our technical load carrying and outdoor gear robust enough for use in all environments. 3. Over the past 23 years that Platypus Outdoors has been operating, we have built ourselves up as a reliable and quality conscious supplier to the Australian Defence Force via both the Defence Material Organisation and sales direct to soldiers. 4. We proudly manufacture the majority of products in Australia and also bring brand items in from the USA and the UK. We have a factory on site at Hallam, VIC and utilize specialist Clothing Manufacturers in Melbourne to provide surge capability if required.
