Platform 5 Architects is an award winning architectural practice led by Patrick Michell that creates crafted design solutions for challenging sites and project briefs. We have a track record of obtaining planning permission and delivering crafted housing projects on challenging infill sites in sensitive settings which often require innovative arrangements to overcome site restrictions. Since our inception in 2006, we have built a reputation on the quality of our design and level of service to our clients. Wallpaper* magazine’s Architects Directory 2009 featured Platform 5 in their selection of 30 of the world’s most talented young architectural practices and we have also been shortlisted for Building Design's Young Architect of the Year Award in 2018. Our work has been widely published both in the UK and internationally, covering our residential projects such as the RIBA award winning waterside house, Backwater, a London side extension at Mapledene Road and a curled timber Shoffice. Having proven our ability to design and deliver crafted bespoke houses, we have now completed larger scale public and commercial projects such as the £35million Southwark Campus redevelopment for Lewisham Southwark College and have a 63 unit housing scheme under construction for London Square. Whilst the scale we have worked at has increased we have remained committed to maintaining the creativity of the design process and quality of output that won us acclaim with our early projects.
