Founded in 1986, the European Food Banks Federation (FEBA) is a non-profit organization which brings together more than 341 Food Banks and branches, with members in 24 countries and associate members in 6 countries in Europe. They recover surplus food, a large part of which would otherwise be thrown away, and redistribute it to charitable organizations and social centers taking care of people in need. In 2021, FEBA Food Banks redistributed 907,280 tons of food to 11.8 million deprived people through 45,810 charities and thanks to the professionalism of 39,781 co-workers (83% volunteers).
