ROBATEL Industries, a French company set up in 1830, has been working for the nuclear industry for more than 60 years. The company has presently three production facilities: Genas (near Lyon), La Hague, and Cadarache. In January 2009 ROBATEL Technologies LLC a subsidiary of ROBATEL was created in Roanoke (US). The company is currently working for AREVA, EDF, CEA and is extending to Europe and Asia. Field of activity is Radioactive Waste Management: • Process equipment for reprocessing facilities • Decommissioning projects • Development and production of “special equipment” for the nuclear industry. Description of key products and/or services: • design, manufacture, and assembly of shielded laboratories for research or production, hot cells, decontamination facilities, waste packaging facilities, nuclear fuel production, and testing installations using glove-box technology • design, certification and manufacture of type B casks for transportation and storage of radioactive materials (fuel, waste, sources) : 80 type B casks • remote handling and process equipment for fuel manufacture; • shielded doors, reactor vessel shielding; • tooling for maintenance of nuclear reactor for submarines, • special materials used as gamma and/or neutron shielding.
