Founded in 1957 as an integral part of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, following the establishment of the Single System of Public Recruitment and Training the SNA (formerly SSPA) since 2014 has taken on its current name, assuming the functions of the Higher School of Economics and Finance, the "Mario Toscano" Diplomatic Institute, the Higher School of the Interior Administration, the Defense Training Center and the Higher School of Statistics and Social and Economic Analysis.
