Lomas Brown Jr. Foundation
www.lomasbrownjrfoundation.orgThe Lomas Brown, Jr. Foundation was founded in 1991 to provide post secondary scholarships and financial aid to college bound high school students. Through educational and conditioning enhancement camps, the Foundation has also been able to strengthen students’ academic skill sets, physical abilities, life skills and career awareness. Since its founding, the Lomas Brown, Jr. Foundation has built a legacy around its brand, ‘Mirror Image … It Begins With You,’ a motto that is the cornerstone of his commitment to help children become better student athletes and well-rounded individuals. The LJBF helps students through L.E.A.P. (learn, earn and play) Camp, an after-school enrichment education and activities program. L.E.A.P. Camps assist with academic attainment levels, 21st Century Life-Skills, and Fitness and Nutrition. The program has been implemented at the Boys & Girls Club of Lansing, MI; Big Brothers Big Sisters in Phoenix, AZ; Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland, OH; Costic Center in Farmington Hills, MI; Renaissance High School in Detroit, MI and beyond. On January 24, 2011 a new L.E.A.P Camp was introduced with specialized programs using new technologies and many different educational components to ensure that children and teens are "literate in basic educational disciplines, learn 21st Century life-skills, and have the capacity to embrace and utilize technology,” thereby, increasing each student’s opportunity to achieve their full potential!
