Tekniikan edistämissäätiö tukee tekniikan alan koulutusta ja tutkimusta Suomessa. Säätiö perustettiin vuonna 1949 osana Teknillisen korkeakoulun 100-vuotisjuhlallisuuksia. Säätiön perusti yli 60 teollisuuden ja talouselämän merkittävää yhtiötä, organisaatiota ja henkilöä. Tekniikan edistämissäätiöllä on aina ollut tärkeä rooli tekniikan tukijana Suomessa. Säätiö on historiansa aikana ollut mukana kansallisesti tärkeissä tutkimus- ja teknologiahankkeissa, kuten televisiotoiminnan käynnistäjänä Suomessa 1950-luvulla. *** The Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion supports education and research in the field of technology in Finland. Over 60 prominent companies, organisations and persons in the industry and economy founded the foundation in 1949 as part of the Helsinki University of Technology’s centennial celebrations. The Finnish Foundation for Technology Promotion has always played an important role in supporting technology in Finland. During its history, the foundation has been involved in nationally important research and technology projects, such as the launch of television broadcasting in Finland in the 1950s.
