Impact Wombats
www.impactwombats.comIn the face of pressing global challenges - such as the climate crisis, poverty and social injustice, the role of the young generation becomes vital. Impact Wombats*, a Luxembourg-based youth movement that was created by passionate and forward-thinking young people willing to stand up, voice their vision about the future and furthermore - take a step towards building the world of tomorrow. To tackle the world’s problems, fundamental changes in the business paradigm are needed. Social entrepreneurship therefore takes the centre stage of this youth initiative with the annual Social Entrepreneurship Challenge for 15-19-year-olds, where young people are introduced to the foundations of social entrepreneurship and challenged to help solve some of the world’s most pressing problems by developing a business idea “from scratch to pitch”, supported by entrepreneur mentors and sustainability experts. *Wombats - native to Australia, these animals became real heroes of the recent Australian bushfires as the large and complex system of wombat burrows provided a safe refuge underground for other wildlife.
