BENNYROYCE DANCE PRODUCTIONS (BDP) is a project-based, multimedia, contemporary dance company committed to cultivating collaboration and inspiring innovation under the artistic vision of Filipino-American dancer-choreographer Bennyroyce Royon. BDP’s fresh, energetic, and inventive works engage audiences in imagining unknown possibilities, in seeking connection and meaning, and in enjoying the inherent movement of life. Royon fuses an eclectic range of dance styles, imprinting his movement with a tactile physicality sensitive to the enigma, grace, and energy that shapes and reshapes the landscape of the human condition. BDP has appeared in New York City at The Joyce Theater (Dancers Responding to AIDS Dancin’ Downtown at The Joyce Theater, May 2013), the Salvatore Capezio Theater at Peridance Capezio Center (Peridance APAP Showcases, January 2013), Baruch Performing Arts Center (REVERBdance APAP Showcase, January 2012), The Wild Project (The Current Sessions, November 2011), and at The University Settlement (Performance Project, April 2010). The company has also received space residencies at Armitage Gone! Dance Studio @ MANA Contemporary in Jersey City, NJ (April/May 2013) and at The Art Mill in Jeffersonville, NY(August 2011). BDP will have residencies at Velocity Dance Center (Seattle, WA) and Mineral School (Mineral, WA) this coming summer, 2014.
