At GRIT Basketball, we teach the mechanics of proper shooting, finishing, footwork, ball handling and much more. But we don’t stop there. We make sure our players know when, where and how to use those new skills in game situations and to understand the value of hard work, perseverance, being mentally tough and having a great attitude. We focus on five steps to help connect the skills we teach to the game: technique, executing skills at game speed, then against pressure, and finally within game situations. The 5th and final step is performing the skills in an actual game. In all stages of development, we discuss and practice the mental approach to peak performance and game success.
