Mission: Working with community partners, we provide opportunities for children and youth in under-resourced communities and schools to engage meaningfully and actively in hands-on, high-quality arts education. Mandate: VIBE Arts' mandate is to engage young people, who live in priority neighbourhoods, with high quality and accessible arts education programs. These experiences are meaningful, relevant and collaboratively developed with community and education partners. VIBE Arts positions arts programs in schools and neighbourhood venues as a means of building community, and empowering marginalized children and youth to reach their full potential as artists and social contributors. • Founded in 1995 as a registered not-for-profit charity. • Operates Outreach programs in both community and school locations that are strategically and educationally linked. • Works exclusively in under-serviced communities, where programs are free to young people, tailor-made, relate to school curricula and use existing communal assets. • Works in 9 priority neighbourhoods: Jamestown, Jane/Finch, Weston-Mt. Dennis, Lawrence Heights, Regent Park, Victoria Village, Warden Woods, Malvern and Toronto Central • Over 98% of our program partners ask us back after experiencing an AFCY program • VIBE Arts provides over 25 program participants with part-time employment – over 90% of these youth claim it was their first arts-related job
