Estuary Care Foundation

www.estuary.org.au

The Estuary Care Foundation is devoted to protecting the ecology of South Australia's estuaries, particularly the Barker Inlet and Port River. We do this in pragmatic ways. Our teams of volunteers are replanting coastal vegetation, seeding native oyster beds, and building coast-protection infrastructure that minimises the impacts of climate change and extreme weather events on our shores. We promote 'living shorelines', such that natural oyster beds and seagrass meadows play a huge role in buffering against erosion, improving water quality, supporting a robust ecosystem, and resilience in the face of climate change impacts. We are a volunteer board of directors, managing teams of amazing volunteers, and building partnerships to support our work.
