The vision and mission of the Design233 team is to document design & art within the African continent and in the Diaspora and to educate and inspire through its writings. We seek out creatives who instigate positive change within the built environment through thoughtful design processes in their works. Colorful fabrics, patterns, symbolic motifs, drums, kente, earth and thatch; rhythm, rites, festivals, lifestyle lifestyle with diverse climates translated into the spatial dimension; overlays of western influences through colonization and from Africans exposed to western cultures who define the Afropolitan style- This is Africa. Its art and built environment is rich with history, from the traditional to the contemporary. Design233, coined from the Ghana's international code '233' as an homage to the birth country of the founder, simply represents design within Ghana and beyond. Design 233 is a journey through time revealing the rich overlays in the design culture of the continent. It is a celebration of African design, of the great works of art (artistic works) by Africans.
