Live Sounds, an independent company founded by Isabel Soffer, produces, creates and curates live international music programs in New York and across the country. Its mission is dedicated to developing cultural understanding and appreciation for innovative arts from around the world and to preserving and cultivating international music traditions. Live Sounds curates and/or produces two important world music programs for Live@365 and Pace Presents alongside many projects and collaborations with cultural institutions and festivals including the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Make Music NY and artsBrookfield at the World Financial Center. As co-founder/director of globalFEST, Inc, a non profit organization serving the world music community since 2003, Live Sounds co-produces its annual 1-night, 3-stage, 12-band festival that coincides with the annual APAP conference in NYC. gF’s flagship festival has become one of the US’s most anticipated and diverse cultural events and an essential catalyst for the world music field in North America launching the careers of over one hundred international and local artists. gF runs a touring fund for alumni artists and curates for a variety of festivals and special events around the world creating new opportunities for world music artists and supporting diverse programming. gF is a service organization for the presenting field and a year-round resource for curators, global music artists, and the live music industry as a whole.
