The Pía Aguirreche Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to the education and dissemination of palliative care. The founding objective is to dignify terminally ill patients and their caregivers by promoting palliative medicine as a medical specialty. This mainly includes patients, family members and healthcare professionals. The first in the informative plane; the last in training. The Pía Aguirreche Foundation brings together great specialists in palliative medicine from Spain. Its activity focuses on giving master classes, holding conferences and publishing books and articles. The Pía Aguirreche Foundation trusts that this outreach work will facilitate the development of the specialty. Specifically, in the number of trained health professionals and in the number of palliative care units available in the health system. The activity of the Foundation also includes the financing of other organizations and projects aligned with the foundational objectives.
