www.se-s-ta.czCentre for Choreographic Development SE.S.TA, z.s. (Czech Republic) Since 1999, non-profit organisation Centre for Choreographic Development SE.S.TA has supported the development of contemporary dance and related disciplines in the Czech Republic. SE.S.TA organises a number of diverse activities, at the highest professional level, but also participatory events and activities for children and the wider public. The main aims of the organisation are to foster the engagement of contemporary dance within an international context and to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration and discussion. SE.S.TA offers artists a wide range of opportunities for professional development and enrichment, whose common denominator is ‘encounter’, including encounters with different fields, with different ways of thinking and creating, and with different cultures. SE.S.TA’s actives have also resulted in several Czech choreographers and performers finding employment in foreign engagements. Spectators are regularly invited to work-in-progress sharings from SE.S.TA’s residencies, as well as to full productions, or the mingling of contemporary dance with fine art in the context of the Dance in the Gallery cycle. Each summer, SE.S.TA celebrates the highlight of its season: the international festival of contemporary dance, physical theatre and new circus KoresponDance. Festival KoresponDance Every year at the beginning of July, KoresponDance opens the doors of the castle at Žďár nad Sázavou to dozens of artists and thousands of visitors for a fantastic experience of contemporary art of the highest international standard. KoresponDance, an international festival of contemporary dance, physical theatre and new circus, is the first outdoor festival of dance in the Czech Republic. It began to take shape in 2009, since 2013, the festival has existed as we know it today: the largest site-specific festival of contemporary dance in the Czech Republic.
