Fully accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the College of Veterinary Medicine is dedicated to the enhancement of health and well-being of animals and human beings. In order for us to carry out our mission, the college focuses on students within our Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program and our various graduate programs in each of our five academic departments – Biomedical Sciences, Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine, Veterinary Microbiology and Preventive Medicine, and Veterinary Pathology. The college also offers combined advanced degree programs for concurrent DVM students including the Masters of Business Administration with Iowa State’s College of Business and the Masters of Public Health with the University of Iowa’s College of Public Health. On a daily basis we address the health of all animals including livestock, poultry, companion animals, equine, captive and free-ranging wildlife, exotic animals, and birds. Researchers in the college have a global impact on not only animal health, but human health and food safety.
