Mendocino College – Your Community, Your College, Your Success! Mendocino College celebrated 46 years of serving the educational and community needs of the Mendocino-Lake Community College District in 2019. It was in September of 1973 when portable classrooms arrived at the Ukiah County Fair Grounds and the first fall semester began with over 1,000 students enrolled. That number has grown to over 6,600 students and today, Mendocino College District serves approximately 150,000 people and fourteen unified school districts over more than 3,200 square miles, employing more than 300 classified, faculty and management personnel. For the benefit of our community, classes are offered online as well as on-ground at the Ukiah campus, Lake Center in Lakeport, North County Center in Willits and the Coast Center in Fort Bragg. In this way, our students have a variety of flexible options as they pursue their academic goals. In Ukiah, our new Library/Learning Center includes a spacious library with an extraordinary view, a learning center, the Math Engineering Science Achievement (MESA) program, a disabled resource center and a new language lab, all equipped with the latest technology. The new North County Center located at 372 East Commercial Street in Willits opened for classes Fall Semester 2013 with a grand opening ceremony on September 11, 2013. The grand opening of the $15 million Mendocino College Lake Center located on 31 acres at 2565 Parallel Drive occurred in the Spring 2013. Most recently, Mendocino College celebrated the grand opening of the Coast Center in Fort Bragg in the Fall of 2017. Mendocino College offers a wide range of Degree and Certificate programs in areas such as Automotive Technology, Business, Construction and Culinary Arts as well as Biology, Mathematics, Social Sciences and Visual and Performing Arts. Students can enjoy higher education right here at home in preparation to transfer to 4-year institutions or to complete an AA or Certificate.
