Magnium Australia

www.magnium.com.au

Magnium Australia is constructing the world’s first decarbonised magnesium metal plant. Magnium commercialises world leading research to manufacture zero carbon, zero toxin magnesium metal from Australian feedstock. Magnium will scale new processes that engage low cost, low carbon energy supplies and highly efficient processes that reduce and eliminate toxic by-products to deliver globally competitive high value zero carbon metals manufacturing in Australia. Our proven and globally superior Magnium technology will be applied also to Lithium,Titanium, other minerals and rare earth elements. Light metals have an important role to play in decarbonising transport, aerospace and extending the range of electric vehicles. Magnesium alloys are 75% lighter than steel and 33% lighter than aluminium, and every kilogram of magnesium metal is estimated to save 50 kilograms of CO2 emissions over its lifetime. Magnesium’s applications are broadening including solid state hydrogen storage, medical implants, superconductors, body armour, and automotive batteries. As the foundational pillar of a green critical mineral supercluster, Magnium will lead the delivery of high-value, zero-carbon industrial materials creating a sustainable future for advanced manufacturing across the globe.
