University of Tennessee FUTURE Postsecondary Education Program
futureut.utk.eduFUTURE is a two-to-three year Postsecondary Education Program for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism. FUTURE is designed to help young adults successfully transition from high school to adult life. Our goal is to empower our FUTURE students to achieve gainful employment in their communities. With the help of faculty, staff, graduate assistants, and volunteer peer mentors, we provide students with the opportunity to take specially designed FUTURE courses, audit undergraduate courses, and to attain internships on and off campus to develop their academic, vocational, social, and decision-making skills. Upon completion of the program, students receive a vocational certificate.
