www.siccda.ieFounded in 1982, the South Inner City Community Development Association, SICCDA, deliver a range of community services in South Inner City Dublin focused on education, employment, empowerment and connection. SICCDA have 4 After School Services across Dublin 8 fostering well-being and educational development for 100 primary school children, run a Garda Youth Diversion Project focused on positive interventions for at risk young people between the ages of 11 and 17, provide Community Employment to help people who are long-term unemployed get back to work through part-time placements and training, and run a range of community interventions – including a Men’s Shed, an Over 55s club, a Senior Alert Scheme and Community Clean Up Days. SICCDA also runs a local allotment for community gardening. And, in collaboration with other local community associations, local volunteers and by engaging a range of expert pro bono support, SICCDA lead and co-ordinate the annual “Liberties Festival” celebration of the area and community.
