STSA (Swiss Trading and Shipping Association) is the leading professional association for the trading and shipping of commodities in Switzerland. It was founded in 2006 under the name of GTSA (Geneva Trading & Shipping Association). It became STSA, a Swiss professional association, in October 2014, regrouping the regional associations within an umbrella organization. The association currently represents the 180+ member companies of the three regional associations, from global leaders to smaller "niche" specialists. Drawing its force from its member base, the Association represents the interests of the commodity trading industry, freighting of goods & financing, and services related to it, in Switzerland. The Association works in the interest of its members in cooperation with the authorities and puts its competences at the disposal of communal, cantonal and federal institutions. The Association contributes to the promotion of Switzerland as a center of worldwide know-how in the domain of international trade, and shipping and their financing, notably by offering a full suite of academic and professional training programmes. Therefore, STSA offers its members a unique platform on which commodity trading companies can cooperate with their partners along the logistics chain.
