Inspired by the intersections of heritage and art, and intentionality and individuality, CIRPRIANAMÍA is a practice of artisanal craftsmanship meant to empower and inspire a new notion of luxury and expression. Designed by Nelissa Carrillo, the brand takes notes from her Mexican heritage and explores themes of ancestral traditions, consciousness in self-representation, and the Mexican-American experience as a first-generation daughter. Punk through it’s questioning of tradition and luxury through its approach to craftsmanship, CIPRIANAMÍA uses handcrafted patchwork meant to breathe new life into forgotten pieces and elevated tailoring that juxtaposes the inherited romance of Mexican culture - creating a duality in the feminine and masculine, the soft and rigid, and the old and new. Made and manufactured in Chicago, Illinois in small-batch and made-to-order quantities, the brand remains ethical and sustainable through intentionality in production, a seasonless approach, and gender-fluid design.
